I have a question and please help.

I lost my G10 during my trip. I called the police already and claimed the insurance. But I am not sure if someone pick the camera and go to the CS centre for maintenance in the future, will the CS know and inform me?
I have registered the maintenance in Canon Web already.

As I know, once you are indenified by the insurer, the insurer has the legal right of the insured property. If the said camera is recovered later, the insurer usually see it to reduce part of it's loss without notifying you. But you can remind your insurer beforehand your intention to reprocess your loss camera if it is recovered later and you have to pay the prize for it. *****if you find the camera, you have to hand it to the insurer otherwise you may be prosecuted for fraud or theft.******
