is the 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 worth buying? i mean is the color solid and is the image quality sharp?

then, the 70-300mm DO lens. is it worth the extra $5000? because i looked at the specs. the regular one is lighter (600+g) than the DO version (700+g) but the DO version is supposed to be light.

i have a 24-70mm. planning to get a 70-300mm and stop.

thank you for the link. i clicked on the lens i want and saw that the numbers and lines were not sharp. i assume this is what the image qualith looks like when i use the lens.
will do more research.
what tele lens do you suggest then? the 70-200mm? if so i will only get the f/4.0 because the f/2.8 is too heavy for me.

if want picture quality, EF 70-200/f4L IS
if want big aperture, EF 70-200/f2.8L IS or non IS
if want super sharp telephoto prime lens at a relative cheap price, EF 400/f5.6L
if want relative cheap prime IS lens, EF 300/f4L IS
if want dirty cheap zoom, try Sigma 70-300 (APO or no APO), 2nd hand below $1000

I can only just suggest these lenses (I owned or I've used), as I have no experience & no $ with longer telephotos

大白係zoom之中係幾sharp, 但同456比係差d嫁，而且佢IS唔係好係小小白IS咁正，仲係吸塵機。

加1.4x 成像和對焦速度得吾得呀？因我見有D ching 加左1.4係好吾得，有D就好得！可能同部機本身有關！

I highly recommend 70--300 mm IS 4-5.6 because it's tele is much useful than 70-200 mm f4. even if you use APS-C system .That's why many c hing use 1x1.4 lens to make it longer range.

Secondly, the IS function on 70-300 is very very useful but if you buy 70-200 IS you have to pay another $5000.

Besides, the image is not bad at all taking into consideration it's price. A good second hand one costs only $3500.

70-300 DO is good but too expensive. So, if you have money, go for it . Otherwise, 70-300 is good enough la!
