I am thinking of buying a lens extender for my nikon lens.
but comparing with cropping image in the post stage, which way gives you better resolution?
anyone has experience in this? please kindly advise.

唔係呱?crop冇影響解像度,咁買支wide鏡充當遠攝鏡同微距鏡都得啦.

Page 252 of Nikon D7000 User's Manual says:
"......cropped copies created from JPEG photos have the same image quality as the original....."

confirmed with nikon, also after 2nd though, cropped image does NOT loswer the quality of the pic at all if you don't need to have a large print out.
because 12m can be cropped to 8m or even 6m depends on how much you crop.
printing 20x24 using 6m resolution is a not good idea.
but for viewing, 4R, 5R doesn't really matter.
one thing using extender is, u have less post job to do.
cropping >1000 does take sometimes.

那是一個最官方,最純計數的回覆.這個判斷係假設所有影像都係100%完美而得出的.
一部1200萬像素既相機,如果crop到 300萬像素.冇錯照計數解像度係夠晒4R 有突.但係佢其實只係用咗感光完件既1/4 面積去影張相.同樣既影像如果係由1200萬像素resize到300萬像素.肯定係靚過crop出來嗰張.
尤其一啲本身有小小問題既影像例如高iso影,有noise既相,1:1睇見到好勁既noise,縮幾倍後就會睇唔到.小小矇既相縮咗後亦都變翻sharp.
點解DSLR畫質會好過DC?DC有好多像素都好高的,分別就係在片幅.
現今DSLR既畫質同完美仲差好遠,100%放大的話冇一部掂.
