如果買來Trade, 首選泥坑同大炮
如果買來看, 多鏡可以經常轉很重要, 首選泥坑同大炮

如果買來拍照, 任何Brand也可以.
本身覺得Pentax和Olympus是不錯的選擇.(相片的Colour)
以Len Quality (For kit), Olympus is best
but KX is so attractive as Video Taking and AA Battery.

If you plan to use AF lens + European manual lens, Pentax or Canon are the only choices.

Nikon mount CANNOT use lens from other systems, eg. M42 lens, a very common mount when great European lens were made (unless with an adaptor with a PRC made lens in between).

Rollei, Leica, Contax and Exakta mounts can be easily converted into M42 but a pain to Nikon

Olympus (E-620) can take M42 and other systems but with a 2x crop factor, plus it has very few choices of AF lens (eg. limited choice from Sigma & almost non-exist from Tamron). And Olympus is clearly focusing more on Micro 4/3 now rather than 4/3

Canon can take all systems lens but without in-camera shake reduction and image quality is questionable (in terms of details in shade, colour tone and sensitivity) unless you are buying 5DMkII onwards

For Pentax (all APS-C 1.5 crop factor better than Canon 500D that has 1.6x), you can use all Pentax lens (including medium format lens), all M42 lens from Pentax and major German brands in the 60-70s with shake reduction. With K-x, you can take movie with many types of lens. Not super fast AF (ie. not ideal for sports photo taking)

Sony is another option, can use M42 but you cannot even us old Minolta (MD mount lens)!

If you buy new items, even Nikon and Canon will cost you alot (likely more, bcos of their expensive lens, in terms of absolute amount) if you resell your stuff.

i m the rookie.... actually i want to buy K-x .The white one is very attractive....
Any brother knows that how much is it now .. and kit with one lens or with 2 lens better?

1) Very good detail and colour, bcos of its SMC costing and nice optics
2) In-camera SR with 1.5 crop factor (Olympus has good colour too but 2x crop factor)
3) Very good SMC Pentax lens (2nd hand lens are cheap)
4) K-mount is reasonably flexible to use old European lens
5) Most complete prime and pancake lens collection with AF functions

Canon and Nikon have always been targeting mass market (ie. more customers and volume) and have the fastest AF focusing system (only in their top models). An important criteria for Journalists

Pentax was positioned as high-end (among Japapnese brands) and was more expensive (due to its quality optics) during film camera era. That's why less common than the big two.
