2. E-TTL II eliminates under exposure that can occur with straight reflections from the subject. This feature is useful when shooting a subject with a highly reflective object in the background or if the subject itself is highly reflective.

3. prevents over-exposure when photographers lock focus and recompose the shot by considering the flash output level calculated according to the distance information.
