A lens of absolute quality with no substitution. Sharpness across the frame, usable F1.4 aperture and bokehicious background. This will be the only 24mm lens you will ever need for MFT system, render OM 12mm F2 a toy lens for less serious users.
The lens while looks and feel heavy, is still considered portable for most circumstances. It matches my Pen F and decade old E-PL1. Exceptions are on very small camera body like GM1, GM5.
Built quality of the lens is promising, not just it is made in Japan, but it also features weather sealing render it less susceptible to dust and fungus infestation. I bought mine from Carou*ell used, and i cant see any dust getting inside despite of heavy use.
As a prime lens, it is very versatile and perform well in many situations. The lens is tack sharp even wide open, with optimal sharpness achieved at F4-F5.6.Close-up performance of this lens is surprising, it surpasses my needs on product / food photography.
The Sunstar taken with this lens is next to nothing, as far as i know no MFT lens can do better than this.
