According to the Stark 9-66AU manual (Canadian Hickok tube tester, similar to Hickok 533A, Hickok 750). The minimum Gm requirements are as follows:
- E188CC - 4095/4095 per section; new around 6500/6500
- E88CC - 3780/3780 per section; new around 6000/6000
- ECC88/6DJ8 - 4220/4220 per section; new around 6700/6700
