However, in comparing with your mentioned refurbished MacBook Pro, the following upgrades have been effected in mine:
upgrade CPU from i5 to i7 = $1500
upgrade memory from 8GB to 16GB = $1560
upgrade SSD from 512GB to 1T GB = $3900
upgrade Apple Care from 1 yr to 3 yrs = $1968
That is a total of $ 8928 for upgrades only.
Therefore, there should be no direct comparison between these 2 MacBook Pro and the price $12,288 would not be considered.
