may i ask whats the advantage of using slide film for enlargment print?

is it a general rule of thumb, slide will have finer grain??

HWC hing, of course you can enlarge any 135 formated film to 18x24 inch. just a matter of if you stand the grains, and the exposed weakness of below top class lens.

as a general rule of thumb, slower speed film will deliver finer grain size, but I personaly not sure if its a matter of +ve or -ve la. But its a fact so happened, very fine or slow speed film seems only appeared as slide only. e.g. Fuji Velvia 50 or if you can find some very fine ISO 25 rated Kodak professional slides.

Really depends on your acceptance la, I don't think anyone would accept enlargement made from even the finest 35mm film for wedding (except they want the grain as special effect) they are mostly taken with large format cameras.

My personal experience, the finest film I have used ever are Provia 100F for slide and Kodak Royal Gold Select 100 for negative.

I haven't tried Velvia myself or the slower Kodak Ektar 25. They should be even better.

OK, another quick search in photo.net

some user rate the grain's size as,

Konica Impressa 50 < Kodak Royal Gold 100 < Fuji Reala.

I have never tried the Konica, but generally agreed Royal Gold 100 Select is better than Fuji Reala in terms of grian size.

Really not sure if you can get better results from slide la.

?? Really ?? They use 35mm camera to service their customer ? Or just for their 廣告牌 ? But its sensible for them to use their best equipment for the 廣告牌 really, as thats what give potential customers their first impression.

Recalling my personal experience when I took mine in Taiwan, the main camera used is a Pentax 6x7, and the sub-camera used is a 645 wor. Let me check check the negatives tonight to see what film they really used sin.

I am really a bit shock if you tell me HK wedding photo service use 35mm to do this once in a life time business wor.

Checked, they use Kodak EPD and PPN film for colour and Iford Delta 3200 pro for B&W.

um.... i am really too green and had never heard of these print films before.
