Sorry if some people did ask and answer before..

But I want to know why D-SLR usually use CMOS, not CCD,
and why Prosumer/lower grade DC use CCD, not CMOS?

Is it the cost problem??

CMOS 成本較平, 所以 DSLR 可以賣平D, 但 CMOS 發展空間仍很大, 而 CCD 已差不多到頂了.

It seems CMOS is better than CCD (lower power consumption and less thermol noise).. So what is the reason why low end CCD are not using CMOS, but keep using CCD?

o的相機internal 會加sharp 張相..所以o的sample sharp唔sharp...
就視乎佢落左幾多sharp(當然..都同鏡頭有關)

要sharp o既話，自己開ps用usm都可以加sharp...

Both DSLR and Con/Pro-sumer use 3 sensor elements to represent one dot of image. This is the reason why their image is not sharp.

Only Foveon technology using by Sigma SD9 (but also CMOS) use 1 element to represent one dot of image. This is why image from Sigma SD9 is so clear and sharp.

Sharpening in Software is another story.

Don't know if I am right.

Base on the structure problem
*D-SLR need larger sensor, where other DC can use smaller sensor

*CCD is better than CMOS, can provide a better image, but has larger power consumption, produce more heat caused thermal noise.

*for the same size, CCD is expensive than CMOS, to make a large CCD for D-SLR, very expensive (or have technical problem), so they use CMOS instead.

請分清楚 sharp and clear 的問題。
sharp / soft 是鏡片質素或 software 做成，如 soft lens 或多層鍍鏌。
clear / blur 是鏡片組的成焦問題，如 out focus 或色散(顏色的波長不同) 問題。
CMOS - 平、慳電、感光較差、不生熱小 noise。
CCD - 貴、食電、感光較好、易熱後生 noise。

D-SLR usually use CMOS ,Dc usually use CCD...?我想大家是Canon迷了,其實剛好相反,一般低Grade的DC如台湾或韓國不出名的出品多用CMOS,又或電腦常用的Webcam也多用CMOS,因價錢較便宜,而Nikon,Fujifilm,Olympus甚至最專業1600萬像的Kodak Pro Back都是用CCD作感光元件!其實在各大網站及雜誌常看到"CMOS質素已直迫CCD"又或"CMOS已可與CCD較量"等用詞已知CCD質素一向領先,不過近年Canon開發的CMOS迹步迹趨,質素已相當好!但論超越則未敢茍同,當然商人出商品Cost是一大考慮,用低一點價錢用到差不多的產品當然更好!
