dpreview.com has just posted some Minolta A 1 sample pictures.

The pictures are amazing.

Sharp and clear. Noise reduction seems much better than former D7H and 7HI. Great colour tone as well.

I am not a Minolta user, but I really like the pictures.
Personally, I think it can compete with Canon 300D in picture quality even though A1 is only a 5 Megapixel camera.

It really out paced my S602 a lot.

A1個AS system真係幾好喎

I am inpressed with Phil and Jo's shots with the A1.

I have a 7i. Love it. I also have a Panasonic FZ1. Love that too. (I also have a S45 (with underwater casing) for those wet places. Love that too.) Each of them excel in their own special areas. Looks like the A1 has just merged the best of both worlds offered by 7i and FZ1, and offers more, in one sexy package.

Canon 300D is also great. It will be able to do some shots (like sports, DOF control) that I can't do with A1, 7i or FZ1 for that matter. But considering the fact that I hike, swim and dive a lot, and really don't want to lug around lots of heavy camera and lens (nor can I afford to spend much on getting extra lens now to cover the zoom range of 28 to 200 offered by 71 or A1), I will just have to be content with what I got for now, and wait for the dust to settle now that a price war has just been brought on by the aggressive pricing of Canon vide its 300D.
