Today, I saw the 28-135mm F3.8-5.6 Macro Aspherical IF in Broadway. I did not have my camera with me and I cannot try it before buying. However, I thought it was cheap $880. I had some cash dollar on my Heng Sang Bank Credit card. I need an extra lens in similar range. I also trusted Broadway exchange or refund services. So, I bought it anyway.

The problem came when I tried the lens. It works fine on a comparatively long exposure (like 1/60s, F 3.8). Fast AF speed and not bad on image quality. However, when I shot at the sun lit area with short exposure (like 1/200s, F8), I had Err 99 on my camera (that means the camera does not know what was wrong). Simply speaking, it works on dark area but not on bright. After all, Broadway did not let me down and they gave me a full refund after showing them the problem.

My camera works fine with the kit lens and the Canon 50mm f/1.8.

Does anyone has any comment on this? Should it be the problem of my camera, the lens or compatibility issue? I will be pleased if other 300D or Canon D-SLR user could help me. Thanks!

Some old sigma lenses have outdated firmwares!!
So,you must test the lens with your DSLR!!
300D is the Best Buy camera and you can't go wrong with it!!
