I like it too! I've seen the samples from Panasonic and I think it's great! At least, better than all cameras on same grade.

What I concern is time lag as there is no information for it till now.

Talking about the price, US599 is a fair price. You know, this camera has 12X optical zoom with f/2.8 at 400mm, leica & ED lens, 4M piexls, anti-shake system, manual white balance, hot shoe, etc. Besides, it can be added by tele or wide lens (just imaging that when it works with a 2x tele lens, it can zoom at 800mm with f/2.8, what else can you expect?)

If performance of time lag and noise is confirmed satisfactory, I will buy it too.

My FZ1 time lag is 0.1 second after it is pre-focused
Pre-focus means after foucused at a point, it remains there for any number of shot until shutdown or re-focus again.

I believe FZ10 should be on par or even better than my old trusty FZ1

so, what is the time needed before pre-focus? ie how long do it needed to focus? is this time satisfactory?

besides, is the quality of photo good at your view point? is noise a great problem?

Pointing FZ1 at object with contrast focuses instantaneously
When it is in night mode and cannot focus I change it to other mode, focused and change back to night mode by turning the dial.

FZ1 is 2mp only. Noise is always agonizing me but FZ10 is 4mp even the noise ratial is the same the problem will be much less after resized or printed on paper.

The noise ratial refers to 1:1 view on screen

For smooth noiseless image 300D would be much better
FZ10 will give you more fun.

如果機價真係 4000-5000，咁以價錢來講，我相信相當低。

美國好像已開賣, 不過唔知是在那地生產的.

感覺很好, 唔駛五六千可以用到 "小型" lecia 鏡.

只有以下的弱點:
1. 用 sd ram
2. 又係得 35mm
3. 只可影 jpeg, 沒有 raw, 也沒有 tiff

如果可以咁就好啦~~
1. 個 lcd (2寸大 !!) 可以轉
2. 光圈可以細到 f11

FZ-1 is fun, small, swift response and great Leica lens and that why I keep it.

I believe FZ-10 will be great too but it's big, you can refer to the specficsication
