i recommend you download s5000 samples and judge by yourself if the image quality is OK with you or not.
i have a friend just bought s5000 and then overnight he change it to canon G5 just becasue he cannot stand the "crystal" like digital artifects exhibited by 100% view of the 6M output.
if you downsize the picture back to 3M and they probably be fine, and you should be happier for this upgrade.
but for me, i will stick with FZ1 until i save enough $ to upgrade to FZ10, then i won't lose the OIS and few mm wider at the wide end, plus. a true 4M pixel output.

直接說呢 , 我 trade 部 z1, 都唔會買S5000,
反而會等 S7000 或去買 O記 C-750 !
可能我識野少, 我覺得 S5000, 輸出o既所謂 600萬像素,
實得300百多400萬, 可能連 G3 都不及, 而 C-750實際
像素都己經有400多萬 ! 插值好似達到 700 萬 !
其實你都係諗住買長火加高質機, 倒不如等 S7000 啦 !
實際都成 630 萬 ! 好勁啦 !

一係買6490都得既，可以用番SD卡，個MON又夠大，成2.2寸，不過少左手動對焦，同只有JPG 格式沒有TIFF或RAW。
