Forget comparing A80 to other DC la ! All the people in this web said A80 is the perfect DC !

A80 is "close" to perfect for what it is. Long battery life, exellent image quality in vary situations, vari-angle LCD, able to take filter/converter/close-up adaptor etc, Some minor detail like seem-to-be-weak plastic CF door hinges could be improved. As for F200, the issues include slow startup, slow zooming, could-be-better SD & battery doors, 2 AAs only (means short battery life) & fixed LCD. F200 is not a bad camera, just no match to A80 imho.

好睇用途, 其本上, 如果係想買一部可以加鏡, 多d野玩的dc, a80 係一部好選擇, 如果只係想買一部好d既dc 當傻瓜機用, 可以買 F200. 因為價錢相差5, 6 百元.....

個個都話a80 好, 其實只係佢係岩岩出o者, 老實說, 我覺得係差不多野o者....

F200同A80都係可手動的，即是既可傻瓜又可學攝影，但我個人會認為F200好些，基本上除了開機較慢外，質素外型也算不錯。

now I am using F100, it is relatively slow and one major problem is highlight edge has clipping problem (Minolta mid-lower series DC issue), ie a black line on the edge of highlight. It makes the photo very ugly.. (if the highlight at people's teeth, it makes him/her like "cool-牙").

If I could choose again, I won't choose Minolta's DC, even it got a better outlook!

And flipping LCD is very useful gar!

I am using F-100, and I will recommend A80.
For F-100: slow start up, slow shot to shot, and slow autofocus! And no AF assist lamp! I found F-100 is difficult to focus in low light (for example, dark indoor enviroment) condition. And slow start up time and slow shot to shot time does meant something! It will mean that, you will lost some precious moment with your F-100!

I am also F100 user ! Minolta F-series is a slow motion DC ! If you are in hurry situation and want to take snap shoot, forget it la ! But seriesly I satisfy the photo quality ! Really natural color ! Little soft but still OK ! Compare to A80, I won't comment which one can take better photos, it's your choice to select your own DC ! But if you are asking me to choose A80 and F200, I will choose A80 ! But at this price, sorry I have to say that I will choose either S45 or S50 !

Yeah ! Did more research and you can get the answer ! But remember, don't get the research in this web ! I can say that most HK people are Canon Fans !

Let me first declare that I use A80, but I know F200 is also a very good camera, just make sure that it does not "hang" if the baterry is running out.
All boils down to personal choice, and try both cameras in the shop. Since both cameras are not SLRs you don't have to take your current lens system into consideration at all.

I do not know the general trend on this forum, but I am not a Canon fan (A80 is my only Canon product). But one can always go to dpreview.com for more information and opinions which will keep one busy for days.
