Besides the brand name and a much nicer box set, may I ask whats the differences between these two sisters camera?

I found from the web the Digilux 2 has a rumoured list price of EUR 1,800, i.e. HKD 16,700 (!)

fz10: 400萬像, 35-420mm, f/2.8-8.0
lc-1: 500萬像, 28-90mm, f/2.0-11.0

我相信p記將市場分左兩類, 一類是長焦距玩打雀, 一類是大光圈玩廣角人像. 不過如果lc-1玩人像, 佢一定要改善下d雜訊先得. 另外, 我唔記得有無記錯, 當初係某本雜誌睇lc-1既config, 好似最大光圈係f/1.7, 又或者, 係我睇錯左都唔定......

wing hing, i mean the difference between LC1 and its sister Digilux 2.

I think you must remembered wrongly, from day 1, the LC1's max. aperture is F/2.0. as far as i know, there is no prosumer DC break the record of OM's F/1.8.

yes, hope the noise control for LC1 / Digilux2 will be improved, my guess of it should be looking at the 2/3" CCD which is much bigger than the long zoom FZ10 and one of largest among all prosumer models.

Just wonder how diffferent is the build quality of the LC1 compared to the Digilux 2.

i've remembered once heard from a friend who use LC5 told me LC5 is plastic but Digilux 1 is metal.

may i verify if its true?

if its true, that make the price difference convincing.

I surfed the web quite a while but failed to verify the casing material of Digilux, and definately the 'COSMETIC' of them is different and LC1 is looks like more plasticky.

To me the major different between them is the LOGO - it worth maybe as much as the CCD inside or even more. I'd rather to get a Leica MC for collection @ Digilux 2 price point.
