Why?
I've just bought one. Not parallel import.
I like the quality but I am not an expert in photography. The nightshot is fantastic. I dont believe what I see. Unlimited movie recording with very clear sound.

Everybody said the battery life is short but really depends on how you use it. If you switch on all the time, or keep reviewing previous shots then of course 10 pieces also not enough. The screen shows the countdown of the battery e.g. 101 ... 100 ...99 ... 98..97..96 mins. So you know when exactly when it will be flat without guessing.

I've never heard of anybody not buying a spare battery for any camera.

****Can someone pls tell me is it better to get 'water goods' for battery and spare memory stick for V1. Thanks a lot.

if u have skills then A80 of cuz better.

also depends your skills. If u use auto then it's not that easy.

focus is wonderful. 1cm macro. the whole camera is fast expect the zoom.

very depends on you which one to choose. it is totally different type of camera. T1 is for fun, A80 is starter for learning photography skills.

- price too expensive $4390 + $580 128mb memory stick nearly $5000 for a camera for fun.
- Flash not too bright compare to those big camera. but it's acceptable for small cam.
- cannot use camera stand, making very hard to use night mode.
- too few manual settings, cannot adjust the shutter maunally

I personally like it very much. I think it has 8 out of 10.....the images of the cam is very good. However, it needs time to learn how to fully use the cam, or else the images will looks very bad.

alwinyu, yes that's v. expensive..
but I think for ultra-compact DC, it is acceptable with no manual function as the "purpose" of such camera is mainly for "snapshot" or taking photos at unexpected time/meeting etc..

anyway this is good to compliment a big one (for me, my F717)...

I am going to get one soon.. maybe tomorrow, to replace my Minolta Xt (actually Xt is a very good DC, but I'm attracted by the T1~~~~~ )
