5700 has better features...
only good thing about FZ10... is the prices... $$$ is a matter... =^_^=

5700 has 2 ED lens... plus u can add battery pack(use AA battery)... plus u can save as RAW format(if u like to edit photo... this is a must)... 3 flash 2 choice from(SB-50DX, SB-80DX, SB-800)... also lens adapter...

FZ10... the most cool thing is 12X ZOOM... Leica lens... and u can buy extra lens adapter (1.5X and 0.8X)... u can get max up to 630mm ZOOM

I will go 4 the 5700 myself... but if u want big zoom... and inexpansive one... FZ10 is the choice...

I will pick FZ10 even though they are of the same price. The reason is photo opportunity, which usually are very quick to disappear.

The 5700 has more features and so more versatile; hence can cater for more phto situations. But it is heavier, bigger and has less zoom power and has no IS, making it less desirable to take picture of critical moment. One will fully realize this if one has taken pictures on a helicopter or a small rocking boat to Ping Chau.

A colleague bought a 5700 to take pictures for his new born son but found that its features were generally overkill. He ended up buying another small Canon DC and the 5700 is collecting dust.

But if you take a lot of night shots, then forget the FZ10 and go for the 5700 directly. So they are only machines, their performance actually depends on how you use it.
