Cameras with serial numbers above 34L60001 (inclusive) were produced after 15 December 2003 and therefore will definitely not experience this battery drain problem.... ... ... .. ..........

Mine is hong goods, and have this problem too. I've read this problem from dcpreview and many users have the same problem. The only solution is to take out the CF card when you aren't using the camera...
Someone mentioned in the forum that in the camera manual, Fuji suggests the user to use XD or MD card, but in the card slot of the camera, there is label saying "CF type II", which is probably a mistake that made from Fujifilm.....
Anyway I think I will call Fuji HK too, so that they know this is a common problem, not any special case!

I know that MD is not going to drain power while is standby.... but normall CF will drain power... and this is the key difference...
about the Sandisk Ultra II is almost the lowest power drain CF card in the market...

after I found out this problem with my camera, I just take out the batteries if not in use instead of the CF card. I think this is the problem with the camera and not the CF card, or else every DC user will have this problem and Fuji will not have to recall the S7000. So I think Fuji Japan(HK) will fix it for us.
