Hi everybody,

I was thinking of buying either a D70 or a D100. At the end I bought a D100. Why? I tried the D70, but I simply couldn't accept its mirror shaking... that is, the noise and the shaking while the shutter fires... I could just feel the camera shaking in my hand... I'm not sure if that will causes blurring of the picture or not, but to me I'm sure I'll regret if I bought it... so I tried the D100... well, that's totally different. The shutter is much more silent and the vibration is much less. Some may say mirror lock up may help... but that only applies in much longer exposure situation with the tripod, but not in 1/15th second....

by the way, i found the lowest price for "hong" good of the D70 is $7700... in "Tin Cheung" in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Dear Jacprodv,

May I ask you some question of D100 ads follow :

1. Can apply the AI-s mount manual nikon lens for D100 /D70 ?
2. Will the light metering still work when apply AI-S manual nikon lens ?
3. Can D100 and D70 have the mounting (adaptor ) for Russian LENS ? Moroever the light metering is still work or not ?

i've no idea about the 18-70mmDx lens... but personally i don't like lens with "floating aperture"... since you've already got the 24-120, i think you only need to cover the 18-24mm... if i were you i'll buy the 12-24mm, but of coz that's soooooo expensive... another option is the sigma 12-24mm... but again it's a lens with floating aperture. anyhow i don't like sigma lens
that is why i'm now considering to buy a 17-35mm/f2.8
i chose 17-35 ahead of the 12-24mm since the latter could not be use on my film camera

no, neither metering will work with AIS lens on D70 or D100
but i've no problem in dealing with it, simply guess and shoot and adjust
it depends on what Russian lens you are using
if it's a M42 screw mount, then there're lots of adaptors to Nikon mount out there in the market

I follow a doc. which talk about the light metering function of canon D10 is okay whan apply Russian lens with mounting adaptor . But the light metering of 70D and 100d is no function .
Do you know this case ?

i've no idea about D10 but i'm using D100 myself
i also use an adaptor to fit my Russain fisheye lens (M42 mount) where there is NO metering

D100/D70用non cpu鏡都唔係太大問題既~
只要肯先影一張再做修正,就唔難

呢幾日玩過 D70, 我估買 10D 好 d....

我覺得 D70 比 300D 好的地方, 主要係 function/setting 多 d, 個樣好 d, 同埋連拍. 但係 AF speed 唔快得過 300D (我感覺上覺得有可能慢 d 添), save 相亦唔覺佢快過 300D. D70 以上既優點換左同 10D 比就會冇左. 而且我第一時間用我支 300/4.5 俄仔試 D70, 點知同 nikon F80 一樣, 要set M mode 人肉測光, 咁即係玩少好多好玩又平既鏡頭. 當日用 300D + 俄仔, 有自動測光, 玩得好爽!!!
至於 D70 佢支跟機鏡 18-70, 抗紫邊能力極高!! 向天拍建築物拍樹枝完全見唔到紫邊. 不過銳利度反而冇 nikon 一貫咁正 (比 24-85D 弱少少). 但係支鏡都算係好抵買.

I don't means using D70 to VS 10D . It just show you the mounting adaptor of Russian Lens for canon is work better then Nikon only.

留意一點,
canon其實係"唔建議"低階body 接非eos鏡頭,
所以有時測光要留意補償.

回題,
nikon連自己的ai鏡都唔可以測光係自己敗筆.(非不能...)
af speed 大家用鏡身摩打分別都唔大,
D70強既一個係佢uffer夠大, (之前不斷吹捧可以連拍百張就係)
save相比D100快不在話下, 比canon快我就唔敢講(no test...)
1005點測光係來自機皇技術. (雖然我仲未感受到佢既強大)
以八千來比, 的確係"值"過10D

ps.唔駛擔心, D70無得享受直度...........nikon始終係nikon.

機比機無乜野既, 比大家更了解自己器材就好~~
