I buy Tamron 17-35mm F2.8-4 yesterday,before i buy this lens another side i want buy Nikon 18-35mm F3.5-4.5 but at the last time i chose Tamron
1 : 17mm x 1.5 = 25mm install on D100 the view still so good compare my 24-120 is very useful
2 : At the side of the lens,no black angle & no more big distortion
3 : The color is so rich & the resolution is quite good the object shape still sharp
4 : At 35mm F4 the view depth is very smooth i feel very good
Let me test more and i will paste some photo to sharing area
Buy from Man shing $3680 Hong with 5 years war.

Your 24-120 mean Nikon VR?
Every owner appreciates the 24-120 VR.
How bad it is do you think?

I own D70 + Sigma 24-70 F2.8
Of course this combo is weak on both wide and tele side
and cannot take "大合照"

17-35 is good but 3680 cost too much to me lar!
Do you think cheap lense like Sigma 18-55 (small aperture
+ digital only) OK? (may below $1000) Have you consider
them before buying 17-35?

MY 24-120 IS NO VR,THE LENS NOT WIDE FOR DSLR
I HAVE NOT SEE SIGMA 18-55mm BEFORE,I JUST SEE 15-30mm BUT THE LAST I CHOSE TAMRON
