There are different in size and using in diff. DC.

CF [compactflash] is most popular and performance memory card since dc appeared but now most using in larger, prof or pre-prof dc/dslr.

SD [secure digital] is also most popular memory card now and for which is smaller then using in more compact DC.

Using which of them depends on which dc/dslr u chooses.
