In Canon advertise said the shutter of EOS 1D mark II have 200,000 times shutter life,
I think on the film body, 200,000 is quite enough
= 5,555 roll 36 film, average 5 roll per day, can use over 3 years
(only proffessional will taken 5 roll per day, no rest day?)
but for DSLR, I guess only a normal user can take over 500 photo per day, that mean, even EOS 1D mark II, can taken 400 days, about 1.3 years
How about 300D?
if can use 80,000 time, may be 1 years after, the shutter will died!!

I don't know how 'normal' you are. Taking 500 photos a day will make me crazy! I belive a non-professional user will only have time to take photos twice or three times a week. According to your calculation, then he has to take more than one thousands photos each time!

So far I don't ever hear of the shutter dies due to frequent usage. Especially DSLR I strongly believe the user will give it up due to its pixel resolution, speed etc. before the camera dies!

That would be a torture for a normal person to take 500 pics/day ~ Let's say I have 2 hours to take photos everyday after work and I have to get 500 pics within 2 hours, it means I have to get one pic in every 14-15 seconds !

9500+ pics have been taken by my 300D and she is still OK. My friend's 10D is now over 25,000+ pics. For his 10D, the shutter seemed to have problem when it is at her early 20,000 but he kept shoot pic and the shutter turned back to normal.

Dslr user will taken more photo compare to film slr user,
I haven't Dslr yet, but, when I used my DC to taken photo, I will normal taken 2 - 3 pic more than using my film P & S camera, it due to zero cost for these extra photo, and ti make sure the request photo is O.K.
so I guess the Dslr reaction time will faster than DC, to take 3-5 more photo a very easy.
for example, when I taken a group people photo, using film SLR will taken 2 film for insurance, or even 3 pic is maximum, but if I have a fast Dslr, like EOS D1 mark II, I will take 7 - 8 pic using continuous mode, to make sure no people close eye, turning head etc. happen.
for a wedding event, taken 15 - 20 roll film are max., but any member have experience how many film taken using Dslr, of course, you must have enough storage memory, etc. note book or mini disc etc. to store pic.
What is your idea?

呢個”問題“係存在的,但就基本上黎講,所有野都有壽命完結的,睇你點樣用。
以小弟之愚見,所有DC(包聒DSLR同non-DSLR)一定會影相多過film機,呢個係數碼機的優勝之處。而DSLR的設計係同film機大同小異,所以亦會面對快門壽命的問題,但小弟就覺得呢個壽命並唔係單單睇影相的數量黎決定,最重要的另一個因素係快門的開關頻率,即係話如果各下係鍾情於連鐶快拍的,我相信同一個唔多用連鐶快拍的人用同一部機黎比較,各下的快門壽命一定會相對地短。呢樣先係要大家注意的。

even 1D mark II (as a professional body) only 200,000
how about 10D and 300D?
how about other brend Dslr?
