但係光圈少 lcd又不能轉

canon a95
lcd可轉 手動功能都幾齊備 同埋平!
但又無左gx既野

2者差成千蚊 我希望有高手同d買左既用家俾d意見我買邊部好

I'm using GX.

What GX is better than A95 (i've not tried A95 so I assume it's similar to A80):
28mm
1cm macro
much faster start up and shutter lag
hotshoe
smaller
longer exposure: 30sec (but it's not very usable as it's quite noisy)
better look (sorry it's very subjective : p )

What A95 better:
twist LCD
real manual exposure
maybe better image quality (I think image quality is a tradeoff for 28mm compact lens, just like S60)


GX is the toppest DC of Ricoh, but A series is the beginner class of Canon. So there is the price different. But I think GX is better in built quality.

I also dunno the image quality of A95... same CCD size as A80 but 1MP more pixels.... maybe A80 has better image quality...

for GX, i like it very much! I bought it on the 2nd day it arrived in hk. Now it's really as u said "得心應手"! There are only 3 F stops at each zoom range, but it's really not a big problem. It's because the F range is so large!!! F2.5 to F14!!!! I dun think there is any other Compact DC has this range! Even most of the Prosumer DC doesn't have F14! So using the max and min aperture in A Mode, i can control the shutter speed too. And there is M Mode too. So the lack of S Mode is not a big problem at all.

Some reviews show the image quality of GX is not so good. I think it's because the AE system is always a bit over. So usually i use EV -0.3 or EV-0.7 and then I got very good image quality!

If you want pocketable DC, I do suggest u to buy GX rather than A95, although it's more expensive. They are in different classes. And A95 is just a typical DC, but GX has some outstanding features as i listed above. I think it is worth. And what's the price of GX now? i think it's just a bit more than $3000, right? it's a good price!

i just bought the GX this afternoon, GX alone is about 3,200, if you buy with the original full set accessories, the price is 3,600.

I had take some photos this afternoon, you can have a look. Most of them use AUTO, so may be a bit over.

The answer is YES. From 1/2000 to 30s.

不過想補充每格shutter speed is one stop... ie. 1/2000 -> 1/1000 -> 1/500...... -> 15s -> 30s

and to select shutter speed, just press UP button and rotate the dial! it's no need to go to the menu! some new users may not know it. hope it's helpful ^_^
