Is there anyone of you bought Ricoh R1? It seems pretty good. Small DC with 28-135mm lens. Could you please share to me some of your experience about R1 if you've bought it already. Thank first!

Obviously, the 2.5" LCD and OIS of Panasonic is very good. But I have different idea after I took a look of both Rioch R1 and Panasonic FX7 today at broadway. R1 is as thick as FX7 but the zoom range is from 28-135mm but that of FX7 is 35-105mm. Incredible that how to bulit a 4.8X wide zoom lens in a small body and with a very quick start up time. The Startup time and AF is a little bit faster than FX7. The movie of R1 is better than FX7 as there is a digital zoom in R1 but not in FX7. Moreover R1's movie playback with sound but FX7 with no sound. And the salesman said R1 has a lower power consumption than FX7. With Li-ion battery R1 can take 500pcs but FX7 takes only 120. And there is a opticial viewfinder in R1 but not FX7. But there is a large and colourful LDC and OIS in FX7. Both of them are very attactive. I am in a dilema to choose a DC for daily from this 2 DC. Do you have any idea? BTW R1 is $1000 cheaper than FX7.

At Broadway:
R1: $2,880
FX7: $3,990

At Chinese Club
R1: $2,680
FX7: $3680

Both came with 128Mb SD card, Li-ion battery and camera case.
p.s. R1 is can be used with AA battery.

Which one do you prefer?

相質需然兩部都唔係話好好~
不過 FX-7 相質係好少少~

R1 corner 位好散下, 全因細機+ 4.8x 鏡~

how's the display lcd mon ? the resolution is ok ??
do we needed to adjust the angle / direction when we watch it ( like the ATM machine)

From the samples taken by other users, I don't think there is big different of the picture bewteen R1 and FX7. The corner is acceptable as it is wide angle compact DC. Maybe the photo taken by a dslr with a 18mm wide zoom lens is even worse. The LCD if R1 is ok. Of course, FX7 would be better. As kyle7 said F3.3 is not fast enough. Hopefully it is a 28mm wide and camera shake will not be very serious. After the discussion, I think R1 is my final answer as it is value for money and 28mm is really good for snap shot. Anyway thank you for your sharing.

Your right. R1 have many useful function.
but FX-7 photo quality is better a little bit.
DSLR which with 18mm lens maybe not bad, i need to define which lens you use on.
but i think R1 lens range is the most useful on this type of DC.
and the price is very cheap.

如果要mon, 一定係FX-7
如果要wide, 一定係R-1

兩部機d相質素都幾好, 如果硬要同DSLR比, 無o野講..........(D2H都係400萬)

但我個人比較喜歡R-1, 1)28-135mm的細機有幾多部, 自己又鍾意影wide!!
2)R-1設計簡單, 無多餘功能, 如果要玩S, A, M mode, 不如?返部D100慢慢玩.

以上完全是個人意見!!
