I need to take pictures for my daugther's birthday party in a small function room about 800sf, which lens should I use? 17-40L or 24-70L?

I am using 10D. By the way, which metering should you prefer? and should I need to set 1/3 or 1/2 FEC when using 420EX to prevent underexposure?

Should I use the Len Hood as well? I am using the len hood of 24f1.4 for my 17-40, and it is quite fit and handy.

Which mode Tv/Av/P should I use, when using the 420ex?


I have some problem on setting the Tv when using with the 420EX.
I try to set to 1/125 and f5.6, it always forced to 1/200. But it is ok when set to 1/250 and f4.

What is the price of EOS 33, I know 30V is only $2650, Is it better to buy 30V since it is a newer model?

As I know some shop will give you a digital CD of your film photo, is it good to use these scanned film files for editing? Since I like some PS ediitng for protrait photos!
