I an planning to buy one and wondering if:

1. Do I need to bring along the camera to test the extender?
2. Does it bear a serial number on body?
3. Will I have a warranty card in the box if it is hong goods?
4. Does it really matter to be a hong goods as it is only a extender without any moving part?
5. Therefore, will you ever consider buying a water goods as it costs only 2150.00 when comparing with the hong selling at approx. 2600.00

No, the shop can provide the camera.

Difficult call. I tried parellel import for 70-200 2.8 IS, change back to Hon goods the next day. You do have a point in that it is a "relatively" simple device..... good luck.

Thank you for your reply. I do have a 70-200 2.8 IS and it is Hon goods, it should be Hon as it is a very delicate piece of device with moving parts, lens and electronics, which will cost a lot if maintenance is needed.

As for the EF1.4x II, what I can see is only a few pieces of glasses fixed in position... As long as you don't drop it, I think it should work ok.

I could be wrong and therefore I need the user comments.

Anyway, what will you choose?
