compare D70 and 300D, prefer D70.

But also consider what type of lens you want to use,
since Nikon is superb in wide lens, and Canon is superb in tele lens.

300d got a nicer , neat and clean operation system, i hate to roam around the menus as D70, so many item. i use a lot of nikon, from working enviroment to firends circle, i always feel dizzy when i operate the nikons massive menu and OS.

300d also got a better position of the hot key, for example, nikon always like to put a lot of button around the shutter, i hate it, it is very easy to press the wrong one accidently if u are not paying too much attention on the finger, Canon only put the shutter button in that area, that is the right way,i like it.

D70's operating method is trouble, always need to do key combination, oh my god, why nikon always like this? Canon 300d also got some key combination for operation, but only some important part when you shoot photo, but not when u review picture and setting camera.... i can never remember which wheel do what, why dont they make 2 wheel a larger difference(Canon advance EOS got differenmce look and feel on the wheel , like the 10D) , or reduce to one wheel (like most EOS) ......

Canon's color shift to warmth more, while nikon going cool color, i prefer the Canon;'s color preference, well, just a choice of personal taste...

i hate the out look of nikon camera, i admire the Canon curve line design and slim look, too big and tough look for D70, Canon always make nice outlook design, like B&O and Apple, well, nikon is cool, but i dont like the body design.

about the image quality.... well, as they are 2 toppest name around market, i think they are both great.

BTW, Canon start making camera 30 yrs before Nikon, and Canon is the 1st camera manufactorer put micro computer inside the SLR camera in the 70's, check the AE1 and A1!

唔好介意 , 以上兩部機我都沒有,
我現在只係用緊 fz20
因為我想買一部dslr所以都有留意這兩部機
其實在各方朋友及自己的分析
D70會好一些(價錢貴一些)
其實兩部機都各有長處
以下我列出D70較好的地方
D70是用 CCD 300D 是用 CMOS
加上D70的CCD面積較300D大
kit set的 lensD70比300D好
外形方面當然好主觀的, 但本人覺得D70較重感覺上不似玩具
不過事實上兩部機對我(新手)都好夠用, 如果睇錢份上我會買300D
如果budget上有多的話買D70(起碼支lens會好D)

希望以上愚見可以幫到你也不會令canon或nikon迷不滿 ^^

What about Pentax *ist D or *ist DS? Would you prefer it or Nikon or Canon ?

Menu and Button Navigation --> Canon wins by large margin.
Noise -> Canon wins a little bit.
Body sturdiness --> Nikon wins a little bit.
Body weight and size --> Canon wins without breaking your neck.
Lens --> Both are good. Even.
Metering and selection freedom--> Nikon wins by large margin.
Power usage --> Canon CMOS sensor wins a little bit.

If include the Russian Hack firmware in 300D to release the ISO3200, FEC and so on, 300D will becomes a 10D with a much lower price point.

Hence, both are good cameras. It boils down to your personal preference indeed. Otherwise, please wait for 300D upgrade then.

其實揀DSLR同揀non-DSLR DC係唔同的。因為根本係完全唔同玩法。

首先要理解唔同牌子響鏡頭方面對你黎講係唔係會好D。即係話揀DSLR係同揀SLR一樣﹐都係睇鏡頭為首要條件。機身...好老實講﹐一年都可以轉幾次款啦﹐你要追....點追??機身對於DSLR/SLR黎講係次要的。所以唔好混淆。

你要搜集多D有關唔同牌子的鏡頭資料﹐看看邊樣適合你多D。例如要注意價錢﹐range﹐副廠support, 種類及功能(例如 Canon 的 IS, USM 等)。

咩機都唔係最重要既考慮條件，因為佢地都好快會out或你可能好快會upgrade部機。要首先考慮既，係你中意邊個牌子既鏡頭，唔同牌子唔同味道，視乎個人喜好。而將來upgrade左部機，D鏡頭仍然用得番。所以，都係著眼於鏡頭比著眼於camera body好D！
