以Nikon DSLR之1.5X計數
24X1.5=36mm
120X1.5=180mm
36-180mm(D70,D100 mode) is not wide angle mode,
but VR function is very useful if 攝影地方光源不足/no tripod with you
if you have handshake problem, you should get a VR lens if the cost is not too expensive.
but I guess you should get D70 kit with 24-120 VR also if you have budget to get both, otherwise, get D70 kit first, then you can find a 24-120 VR(second hand) if the market is available.

My plan is D70+ 12-24DX + 24-120VR

Kit len + 24 - 120VR

Sigma (15-30 or 12-24) + 24 - 120VR

Your plan A and C are okay.
Plan B is overlap too much.

If wide is more important to you then go for plan A.

My original plan was to get D70 body + 24 -120VR but I finally bought the kit len and save the money toward a LB3.

小弟兩枝都用過,最後都係決定保留24-120,放左18-70,皆因我影人像多,18mm好少用,70mm有時又吾夠用.
講真,兩枝質數相近,不過有VR會方便D.
如果吾介意副廠鏡,可以考慮下Tamron AF 28-75 f2.8(我無用過)

I think 24-120VR is already enough for general use and also very convenient for travel. Addition of 12-24 for taking landscape will be a good combination for travel.

Same as you, I have been planning to buy D70 but around Christmas or Chinese New Year. I think the price of D70 will drop to bottom at this time. Besides, there is a news that Nikon may anounce a new model to replace D100. Therefore, want to wait for a while to see if it's true. If the price is similar to 20D, I may prefer the new Nikon model.

I like to take landscape and insect. For len combination, I prefer
Nikon 12-24;
Nikon 24-120VR;
sigma 150 macro.

Just a legend. But may not have this possibility. Nikon and Canon are century competitors. Canon already has 20D. Nikon will not ldo nothing and et Canon to adsorb his market.
