A reflection lens has a curved mirror at the bottom and a small mirror at the centre of the front of the lens. When light goes into the lens, it is reflected by the curved mirror and then to the central small mirror. Finally the image is projected on the film. A reflection lens is very short compared to the focal length, eg 500mm. You can see very characteristic halos in the background when strong direct light goes into the lens.
