On Sat., I bought the Nikon 50mm F1.8 in Man Shing because I happened to be in MK.
You know what Man Shing gave me ??


























Man Shing gave me the Nikon AI 50mm F1.8 (i.e. manual focus).
Why on earth anyone want manual focus nowadays ???
I had to go back to get it exchange...
It was not easy to get it exchange as I need to argue with them for about 10min. After the argument, they told me that they have no stock for both the F1.8 and F1.4 version. I ended up to pay a lot more to buy something else which I don't intend to buy.
At last, I bought it in Tin Cheung for hkd700 (water). I told Tin Cheng the same (Nikon 50mm prime len F1.8) and I got what I want.
I really don't understand what Man Shing is doing ???

I never expected there was still manual 50mm f1.8 available.
FYI., this len is not even in the Nikon len brochure.
Also I said the same thing in Tin Cheung and I got the right one.

I would think so too and probably dead for many many years :-))
Man Shing even wanted $780 for it.
It is too bad because it is manual focus only because it was made in Japan.

Many people say the AF 50MM F1.8D & F1.4D are mad of cheap plastic but I think the build quality is good for a 700 dollars len (mine is the F1.8).

Though I don't favour both Man Shing or Wing Shing, you seem quite careless in the deal. I can't image why you haven't checked the lens before you leave the shop.

By the way, you can't assume that no one want manual focus nowaday. I am still using manual lens very often. Its sharpness and contrast is better than most AF lens.

Remember! no matter what things you buy, not just camera or lens, once you leave shop, it is extremely difficult to get exchange or refund.

Don't really agree.
As said, the manual focus len is not even in the Nikon len catalog.
As I know this len is made in the 80's, how should I expect to know such len exists. Why Tin Cheung gave me the correct one and Man Shing did not ?
About the exchange, I did not use the len so I don't know why any "good" shop would not exchange it. Unless this is dead stock that no one would buy.

你想知有冇人要MF鏡，走去傳統攝影forum問下，或者走去手扎、photosharp版問下就知。

唔好assume左冇人要MF咁…事實上MF仲有好大市場架，機械機/手動機仲係成行行市，只係普通人會選擇易用d o既AF o者。

佢可能冇諗到你唔留意到你買o既係MF呱 (事實AF應該都有寫係盒面50/1.8AFD實有)，就算冇問盒睇都冇乜可能會買錯呱，不過有時就係大家d唔同o既understanding/assumption累事…

我都有玩Nikon FE(+MF鏡)同F80(+AF鏡)，玩MF個感覺係完全唔同哦。當然，MF係冇咁方便，但係勝在自主性高同埋…唔使用電。

Anyway enjoy 你支 50/1.8啦，好好用，我都用緊，仲係最常用o既添！

Manual Nikkor Lenses are described on P. 28-29 of the Nikon catalogue "Nikkor Lenses" .

MF Ais 50mm f1.8 is all glass. I heard the AF 50mm f1.8 is mostly plastic. However, both the MF and the AF versions are good value for money and are very sharp.

Why on earth anyone want manual focus nowadays ???乜咁講好似係你唔用MF咋喎,大把人仲用緊,而且Nikon AIS鏡冇話停產一路仲出緊,AIS MF50mm f1.8好似仲係full metal jacket喎,好過AF膠殼丫,一你冇講明要AF,二盒面都清楚睇到,三你冇試下支鏡咩,冇AF你都唔知?須然唔排除有d sale係低能,我覺得好似係你自己問題大d喎,唔好怪哂人啦.
