Hi, I took some pictures last night at Yuen Long and moted that there are lots of spot in my picture. But I don't think is the problem of the lens. (I am using Canon IXUS 40).

If you have been using the camera for a bit too long, hot pixels would build up. Try turn it on and shoot something in 1-2 minutes and see if spots are still there.

The canon has been using for 3 months and it doesn't look have any hot pixels bulid up. The blur spots sometimes exist but sometimes doesn't.
Should I bring it to repair center?

嗰啲可能係雜訊,通常出現於高iso或長時間曝光時,相機用太耐產生熱量也有影響,並不是說相機太舊.
可在作品發表區貼上作品,再copy條link來呢度就得喇.

hktrader, sorry, what I mean for "using the camera for a bit too long" is the time you "turn on until the time you turn off the machine". You see, technically, hot pixels would build up after the camera is on.

Try to search a free software on the net called something like "Dead Pixel Test". Install it, follow the instruction and it will be able tell you the total number of hot pixel and even dead pixel.

The first time I use, I didn't follow the instruction and the result amazed me - my camera has TONS of hot/dead pixel. Then, I follow the instruction and did it again - the actual result is 0 dead pixel.

hktrader, instead of uploading it to a public server, the easiest way to post picture up is to post it in "作品發表區 ". Then copy and paste the link so that everyone can see what happened to your camera.

What kind of spots you are talking about? Did the spots only show up when you were using camera flash? Did they only appear in night shots? Did they show up when you were using long shutter speed (more than 1 sec)? Pls give more details. I guess you only saw these blur spots in photos taken with camera flash?

Just checked your picture. Get some dirts or water spot on the lens ? If yes, you can try to clean it yourself. Or bring it back to Canon for check-up. I hope ur is Hong good.

i HAVE CLEANED UP THE LENS AND IT IS LESS LIKELY TO BE MECHANICAL PROBLEM.
