I am E-300 user and I have the following comments:

a) The lens for 4/3 system are expensive.
b) Choice for the lens are less.
c) However, gradually it becomes popular.
d) With Panasonic join the 4/3 sector, you may be able to enjoy the Lecia len.
e) If you are a PC user, you may aware that "Open" system is essential in the future.

玩單鏡機其中一個重要原因係高iso低noise
我係D70用家
e300...iso400差唔多等於D70既ISO800既noise(我未用過350D, 但相信350D noise會好過D70)
E300 iso800以上 , noise太多, 根本唔實用, 1600ISO更加.......
D70去到iso1600 noise仲可以接受
你去DPREVIEW睇下D意見,
DPREVIEW比E300既評語係"RECOMMENDED"
而350D就係"HIGHLY RECOMMENDED"

買單鏡機唔係睇部機身有咩gimmick, 咩防震, 除塵防水同埋功能都係假, 最重要係鏡頭選擇(Canon最多)同埋相片質素(N同C各有喜好)

E300...個人認為, 唔值得投資, 高ISO noise太勁, 淨係呢點都夠殺左呢部機
加上, 4/3鏡黎黎去去得果幾支, 無左單鏡機換不同鏡既樂趣, 另外d鏡都唔平, 除非你真係全副心機去玩4/3
P記合作方面, 可以唔洗理佢, 早幾年O記又話同K記富士一齊全作出機, 但出到依家先得兩部, 富士又自成一閣開左SUPER CCD, 即使將來P記加入, 都未必會出DSLR(同O記自己友打自己友?)

失焦問題, 拎去比canon tune返好佢, 又唔洗收錢, 洗咩驚

I’m also considering between D70 and E-300. I still can’t make up my mind yet but will likely go for the E-300.

For D70, I like its built quality, very solid and seem to be very tough and durable. The feeling of holding, I think, is the best among all its peers. And its quick startup time. Also, I am using Nikon film camera and got a tokina 24-200mm lens which can be used on the D70.

But I like the E-300 on the following points:

1. Cheaper than D70
2. Lighter (Kit set)
3. 8M
4. Vertical Grid
5. Anti-dust (On its E-300’s review on dpreview.com, it also appreciates this feature)
6. Photo quality (I see a number of E-300 and D70 sample images and like a E-300’s a bit more because it is more natural / softer than D70. D70’s is very shape)

I’ve read a number of E-300’s review on the net and understand that its noise level for its ISO800 and 1600 are unacceptable. But I think I won’t use it quit often so this is not a big problem for me.

I also understand that the lens choice for 4/3 system now is limited (or I should say not as much as N’s and C’s) and expensive. But for me, I would likely buy, besides the kit lens, one 300mm lens + one marco lens at most. Therefore, 4/3’s lens choices is good enough for me.

I also don’t have friends who use N or C’s camera and therefore I don’t have the consideration of borrowing lens form them on deciding which one to take.

So, basically I will choose the camera based on its price. After all, I understand both D70 and E-300 is a good camera and no matter which one I take finally , I won’t regret.

I do not consider 350D this time mainly because of my Nikon lens. In fact, I target for D70 a long time ago until E-300 appears.

But now, perhaps I should wait for Nikon to announce the new DSLR on 20/4….hehe.

我會揀 E-300
冇得解, 純個人喜好...

論鏡頭, 雖然4/3system鏡頭少, 但支支都係靚鏡, 而且, 我覺得...有一兩支常用o既靚鏡已經足夠...
Canon係多鏡, 但平鏡質素一般, 靚鏡就好貴......

以上純個人感覺...兩個system我都未用過...

It is only depends on the personnal favour.

You should go to the showroom of OM and Canon to test and find your own choice.

For me, I choose E-300 since I seldom use ISO 800 or 1600. I also accept the quality of ISO 800 for my E-300 since I would not always view the image at 100% to find the noise.
