一般影人像都偏重於大光圈鏡，
如f/1.4、f/1.8，
而定焦又比變焦成像較好，
所以大光圈定焦鏡影人像為合。
如影全身或半身就EF 50mm f/1.4 $2580，
想平D就EF 50mm f/1.8 $680。
想影大頭就EF 85mm f/1.8 $2630，
想貴D就EF 50mm f/1 $15500、
EF 85mm f/1.2 L $14500
or EF135mm f/2 L $6200。
影人像Canon 鏡比副廠鏡出名，
而副廠鏡選擇又唔多，
如果真係唔鍾意Canon 鏡o既，
Leica or Zeiss Carl都好出名，質數亦係一流，
不過冇AF，只可以用MF，
價錢亦都唔平.....
一分錢，一分貨。
個人推介Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM。

Portraits can be full-body, half-body, head-and-shoulders, and even face closeups. Are the portraits serious shots or daily life shots? So what lenses to use also depends on what portraits you are going to take.

Full-body with some environmental background: 50mm f1.4/f1.8 or 35mm f1.4/f2.
Half-body: 85mm f1.8.
Head-and-shoulders: 135mm f2 or 85mm f1.8.
Face closeups: 135mm, 200mm?? macro???

Super bargain: 50mm f1.8! The 85mm f1.8 is fine too.

For super quality, I'm afraid you have to go for Leica.

To all of my funs who want to shoot a good photos:

You may consider Canon EF 50mm 1.8 II len, it is cheap(about $650 dallars from DC Wave), and it was not worse that all Red lens of Canon.Strongest recommend to buy it.

beancurdbean: you said it need 4-5m for half-body portrait with a 135mm. Do you mean on full-size cameras or 1.6x FOVCF cameras? I want to have an idea for reference. because I'm looking for a tele lens for stage photography and close portrait.
