如題, 小弟正考慮Sigma, SB600抑或SB800(太貴). 未知Metz有無合D70的?

Many Nikon users give very high credit to SB800, and say that it will be regret if not buying SB800. You can go to Nikon zone to see.

I use Sigma 500 DG Super in istDS, it is so far so good. But the size of Sigma is really big. The FP high speed synchro flash may not work if you set the exposure compensation on flash - about 1 out of 10 photo will not flash, I try two flash in shop but are with same problems. Finally I find out that let the exposure compensation light blinking can make high speed sychro flash work properly. I don't know what logic inside it.

So, what is your opinion about SB600 & SB800? Pay HK$1000 more, is it reasonable?

I don't see any thing wrong if you buy sigma flash.

Agree with Dcdvfans say that Sigma flash is a good choice,

I am also Sigma flash user, if it is really as rubbish as "some" DC home Nikon fans says, I already throw it away.

But in all forums i see, i just hear SB800 is more accurate / superior to Sigma flash, but did not hear Sigma flash is better than SB800. So if budget is allowed, suggest to buy SB800, rather than one day regret that why not pay more to buy a better flash.

PS : I do not have SB800, but my friend will buy SB800 this Sunday for his D70s, later I can play and compare his SB800 with my SIgma flash on istDS. Let see if SB800 really worth for $2480.

Agreed with Rol for his clear analysis

There is one thing the poster should know that, for GN,EF-500DG super i-TTL is 50(ISO 100/m),support up to 105mm)and SB800 GN (ISO 100, m/ft.) 38/125 (with zoom head set at 35mm) ,no mentioned about Max mm it can support .

The more GN, the better the flash

The Max mm means tit will be "dark" beyond Max mm.

You also can check the spec of sigma EF500 flash,and see if there are any SB800 func that sigma flash doesn't cover.

Besides,one thing you need to care about, sigma flash is made in Japan,while SB800 of Nikon is made in China.
