Tilt-shift lenses are a special kind of lenses which can eliminate perspective distortion and restore the correct look of pics. For example, if you shoot a building from the base, the building looks as if it is leaning backward. It's not straight and upright. You can use a tilt-shift to compensate that and make the building look upright.
