I have two lenses - kit lenses and Sigma 55 - 200 mm, some one says 50mm 1.8 is good for portrait images.

What are the common lenses to use for both landscape and portrait photographs?

Any comments?

Canon 17-85 IS USM. Good range, convenient, quite good image quality. But just quite expensive.

我覺得 kit lens 都好方便又輕又算廣角,
但係都覺支 17-85 IS USM 好好...
但最後都選擇冇買支 17-85 , 買左支 70-200 F4 ( 小小白 )

I heard the sales man said 50mm 1.8f is not made in Japan, is it true or is it made in China? How is its quality compared to the $2K of 1.4f?
