My brother is still indulged in his 20+ years old Nikon manual gear, he said a good system could last for 30 years.

But then again , the mftrs have made the camera body more sturdy and durable in the olden days.

To add that, my brother is a professor & artist in graphic and photography in the university in the US.

His colleagues are mostly in the manual systems and he only has a compact DC for family & travel use.

不同人有不同的需要，在大學教攝影的講師不用「依靠」高科技拍照，他們所著重的是「美學」，一部 manual 機卓卓有餘。但現今記者還會以 FM2 拍新聞「搶位」照嗎？不同人用不同「類型」的相機來滿足他們的個別需要，是非常自然的事。

但還看今朝，很多人都給新一代相機牽著鼻子走，新機一出，不論自己是否有需要，就...... 欲語還休，免得罪別人！

Oh, what I am trying to say is that the real professional would not often change his system too much too often.

But nowadays there are a lot of "player" in the market, all they do is to briefly fool around with the "toy" and then turn around re-sell in the 2nd hand market in substantial "discount". What a waste of money!

Before one should buy a camera, wont they have to think about their needs and do adequate research whether the system is suitable for them. Many people donot realize that and often buy the wrong thing.

Check out the 2nd hand market here, you will see quite a few put up their sales in 1DS, MKII, etc. of the very expensive stuff. And you would understand my point.
