It would not come cheap as it uses pentaprism. The E-300 is a good $8K+, this should be in the similar price range or near the high end of

現在先研究出135 mount DSLR已太遲, O記已經走上不歸路
可惜仲未見到有乜特別優點 ?4/3發現
1) Sensor同mount細? 但機鏡未見特別細
2) 感光好? 成像未見特別靚, noise反而大
.......缺點唔講啦

幾時先可以發揮到4/3?理論優點??

雖然這個 x 2 理論上不是 crop factor，但結果一樣。

As an exuser of E300, I found E300 kits' picture quality much much better than D70 kits and 350D kits. The colour tone is the best when compared with D70. I have been using Nikon for >20 years, but I prefer the Olympus colour more.
Noise is a problem, I 100% agree.
For so-called 'crop factor', it is an advantage for tele lens.
If you are after picture quality and taking photos, E300, and I presume E500, is very good tool.

crop factor!!!!!!!!!
4/3 系統是由鏡頭開始從新設計的,
所以它不用做到個CCD好film般. crop factor不是它的問題.

其他系統因為是用回從前SLR 3/2系統的鏡頭,
所以要把CCD or CMOS 做到film般,
但就要解決耗電量和成本問題了.

Hope 高手們保充更多4/3 系統的料啦.!

full frame 呢個名字係好 tricky 問題。

20d 同 350d 有無 crop factor？對，1.6x
但當佢用上 efs 鏡頭佢又變成 full frame (canon 也是這樣 promote efs 鏡頭)，因為佢個 cmos 完全用盡鏡頭。所以我覺得 ff 完全只係一個無意思，無準則的名詞。

唯一大家都認同的是
1- ccd/cmos 越大，相對noise 越少，景深越淺。
2- ccd/cmos 越小，tele 越有利(只是crop出來的假象)，但wide 越難做到。

如果只係講 full frame 而唔講 ccd/cmos 大少，咁每一間廠都可以出到 full frame，不過唔係 135mm，而係 2/3" ccd full frame 。

當然大家可以話 olympus 的 4/3 系統係重新設計，不應以 135mm 相提並論。但奇怪的是 4/3 鏡頭仍然以 135mm 為計算標準。她的 14mm 鏡頭仍然需要 x2 (實質是 28mm) 我不明白為什麼 olympus 不乾脆把她訂為 28mm 好了，反正他標榜的是全新設計系統。那這個所謂 full frame 又有甚麼作用。

I tend to agree that smaller sensor does not offer any advantage (at least from picture quality point of view). They are just cheaper.
All of those advantages Oly claimed over the 4/3 system have not live up to them. The E system is not really cheap nor really small. The light full off problem whcih Oly claimed will prevent a "prefect" full frame (35mm) camera has never been as serious as Oly claimed. Those DSLR based on old 35mm system but with a crop factor give you almost all the advantage E system will have. So a completely new system like the 4/3 is not really as good as it seems.
