i am 20D user and i hv 10-22 and 17-85 (ef-s lens) and 70-200 f/4
Is it worth to sell 10-22 and 17-85 and buy 24-105mm L?
pls give me some advise

Are you insane? 24 is like 38mm for full frame. If you just want new toy, then go ahead.

I can get a better image even though i lose the range from 10-16

I honestly don't believe you will gain much on image quality by going this route. Hope I don't sound too harsh but judging from your pictures, your skill still has much room for improvement before you can reach the point where extra optical performance will benefit you. May I suggest you spend more resource and effort in studying photography? Amateurs are often fallen in the hardware happy trap and wasted too much hard earned money.

i am not a amateur and i hv not post my photos three yrs ago. I agree wh chan's suggestion and i don't think ur judgement to me is fair since i took lots of photos and i don't upload them. It did not mean that my skill is low.>.<

I agreed with wlachan too, I am not judging your skill, but the 24-105 f4 just won't give much benefits over your current lens group.

However, I can tell that you are very keen to buy the 24-105 f4 for your reason even you are giving up the tele end of 70-200 f4 and the handy range of your 17-85 with IS.

It is ok since you have made up your choice right from the start.

If you have the money, just go for it. 5D definitely will give you better depth of field that subject is more stand out of the photo for it being a full frame camera.

However, the price is very high. As 17-40L's resolution is NOT high enough for 5D, you will lose the wide angle end advantage delivered by 10-22 on 20D. Moreover, your 70-200mm tele lens will not get the free 1.6X magnification on 20D (equivalent . 112mm - 320mm).

I wyou really want 5D, you may just sell all your gear but just buy 24-105 F4 L IS + 5D and wait for a new wide angle lens from Canon that is better than 17-40mm F4 L.

If you looking for Full size DSLR (e.g. 5D), just a 24-105L IS is enough.
17-40L won't give you surprise image but only wider.
Consider Sigma 12-24 can give actual 12mm shoot, APS-C only 16mm

If you not planning to have Full size or film, I satisfied your 10-22 + 17-85 IS (so practical use)
