I wouldn't recommend using EF-S as it restricts compatibility for other Canon cameras in case you need to upgrade the body in the future!

EF-S fits on 20D and 350D type, but not 5D, Mark, etc

1. The image circle of EFS lense is smaller than EF (just for APS-C DSLR)

2. Because canon don't want ppl use EFS on film SLR or FF DSLR, the result will have dark corners

3. Yes, 350d can use both of EF & EFS lense

EF-S lenses are "suposingly" cheaper and easier to make. It is designed to give APS-C DSLR the wide angle back. The widest EF lense is 14. In a 350D or 20D it equal to 22.4mm. While EF-S lens is 10mm equal to 16mm when converting back to 35mm terms.

So I would not expect to see any EF-S 70-200 or so on as there is not need to create a tele EF-S lens
