canon S80 or panasonic Lumix DMC-LM1 are the best

S80 provides much much smoother image but less sharp. but the image of s80 is quite concrete, feel like d-slr.

for lx1, the noise is the main problem, the photos is quite rough ( if viewed wth 100%). However, if not magnifying the pic, the pic is sharp, sharper than s80.

the build quality of LX-1 is better than s80 ( LX-1 has metal feel instead of plastic feel in S80).

The monitor of LX-1 is much better than that of s80. ( same size)

The auto focus ability of LX-1 is worse than that of S80 ( AFof lx-1 is slow and hard to get it in focus)

Outlook of Lx-1 is much much better than that of S80.
