Dear Panerai,

I am a beginner in taking photos and have owned a R1 for 2 months. I have a question regarding shooting close up shots.

Grateful if you can advise under what distance should the Macro focus be turned on. It was not clearly stated in the 'Read this first guide'. It was stated that the shortest distance from the base point of distance mark is 35cm to the W side and 40 cm to the T side.

Does it mean the object cannot be focused if under 35 or 40 cm. or I should switch to Macro if under 35 or 40 cm ?
