Not too late. I just bought D50 two weeks ago at Citicall, $4100 with 1G card. Your question is 'would it be late ' in buying D50, It really depends on what you want, if you like chasing large pixel, this game would never end and you will never buy a camera because you will always wait for a new model. So if you find a camera which is suitable to you e.g. D50, so why hesistate? Just go and buy it. Like me, I find D50 is very suitable for me, no need to edit the photos (D70 needs PS), fast respond, colour is natural..........

I have D50 + 24-85mm G lens. It works beautifully and I would never regret buying them.

This lens is 10 times better than the D50 kit lens, although many says it is about in par with the D70s kit lens.
