D50 - cheap, little PS needed.
Pentax DL - very cheap, also little PS needed

actually all entry level DSLR is good for new user. Hard to define which one is the best for new user. The best is only meaningful when their characteristic matching your need.
350D - need PS, need $$$$ for good picture / lens.
Sony - not much comment available, wait for more users from comment.
Olympus - 4/3 is not main stream, unless you like it unique style

I am also a new baby for DSLR and waiting for the comments on the new Sony a-100.
