Q1)How much is water good for Nikon D50 (body only)?

I have friends live in Japan,

Q2) Is it good or bad to ask my friend to buy D50 (body only) from Japan to me?

Q3) Is it better to buy the D50 body only and match with some other lens better than the kit lens itself???
