i want buy one len for " middle " zoom len.
i think i will buy
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4.0L USM
Canon EF 70-200mm f4.0L USM

any idea for "40-70" with marco?? can buy tokina or the other brand name

buy the EF24-105mm F/4L IS USM law...

actually...if using FF DSLR...seem no need to buy the EF17-40mm F/4L...

I advise your buy the EF24-70mm F/2.8L instead of buy EF17-40mm F/4L plus one more "middle zoom lens"...since there is seem no 40-70mm zoom lens

or if you still want to buy EF17-40mm F/4L USM and EF70-200mm F/4L USM (also i have this two...=P)...I also suggest you to buy a EF50mm F/1.4 USM...that standard lens

you should have all 3 L/4 series lenses, the most versatile one is 24-105/L4, I highly recommanded without reservation!!!!

i have 5D too
the lens i have
1>17-40 4L for wide use in photo some place <normally in f8~11

2>24-105 4L for normal use 24 is wide enough than a 1.6x machine in 17 and i using to phtoto place and people so f4 is enough <normal use in f5.6>

3>70-200 f2.8 is this is very important that tele with high <f> becasue some place in dim for photo <like concert>you can use high iso and high <f> to photo also important of is too
