Brothers and Sisters,

I am thinking of buying a 100-400. Has this lense been in the market for long? will Canon make new one to replace it in the near future? Were there any improvement done on the IS since it was first released? Thanks.

The IS is first generation IS and this lens has been in the market for many years. I bought it earlier this year and is very good. The only problem is in low light condition. Will be good if Canon produce one with larger aperture but this will become even heavier and bigger lens. Improving the IS to the latest is an option but this probably won't be tempting enough for existing user to upgrade.
