k100d i think better
if you are just printing photo of a4 size about 6mp is very enough

k100d picture is sharp and use aa battery for travel is very good
and the lens of pentax is very famous that in a cheap price as a high quanlity product .....smc...super multi coating
also you can use back some glass lens that more than 20~30years old

a100 with 10mp but the problems is battery system is not so good
but ok the focus system are so strange you can go to try some sample in many shop like broxxxxxy or other you will find our the problem
lens for a100 in the furture is good but not sure the focusing system is good or not zesis but very expentive include the kids lens of cos not zeiss:>

i also go for many shop to try the a100 sample but finally i bought the k100d

but i tell you the vibration reduction system of bild in is not better than canon or nikon lens with vr or is

you can try 6mp dslr picture with a low level printer to print a A4 paper

but don't tell me that you using a dc 6mp picture to print :>>

My opinion..

Pentax provide best color, but weak at AF and choice of lens.

Nikon provide best flash / good body build, but weak at color.

Sony provide anti shake / dust, but weak at noise, hand feel.

Just picture qualtiy : P > N > S
