今日去MK dcfever 買了 17-55 IS, 剛試到Canon Register, 系統話Serial no. 有問題, 好擔心買了2nd hand....Need to call Canon to clarify on next Monday....師兄們,有冇試過咁?

Just FYR. I bought the lens with Hoya multi coat UV filter = $6740

I got similar problem too.

I bought the same len in March. But I found that the serial no. on the body was different to the serial no. in the warranty card. I didn't check it in the shop and just discovered when brought back home. Eventually I needed to take it back to the shop. Then the shop checked with Canon. Firstly they said that Canon did not have the serial no. record. But eventuyally the shop got the warranty in about 3 days later. I needed to travel 3 times in order to get the correct warranty card.

It is not a good experience. And I am quite disappointed to this

Acutally, the staff of dcfever had already asked me to check if no. on the lens is same as the no. on the warranty card. I think their service was OK.

However, i've found the serial no. on the receipe has two more digi which is overlapped e.g. original s/no is 4512345, but no. on the receipt is 454512345. Weird....maybe typo...not sure.

In my case, after get back the warranty card, need to wait a few days for Canon to update it in their system before I can register.
